Astro City: Local Heroes

An aging woman tells her daughter the tale of her brush with a hero. Irene Merryweather was a mayoral aide in the 1960's when the nuclear-powered hero Atomicus was born. She quickly developed a relationship with him that went beyond the boundaries of a strictly professional relationship. But misunderstanding and her strong, relentless nature were a test for a hero who only wanted to fit in, and find a life with the woman he loved.
