When a hostage taker demands to speak to Detective Marcus Driver, it turns out to be a childhood friend of Driver's younger brother. He survived a tragedy in High School, and apparently never recovered when the school's baseball team were the victims of a bombing. Now, one of two survivors, he's holding a fast-food restaurant hostage before killing himself.

But something he says pushes Driver to look into the bombing case from ten years ago.
