On Rann, Adam Strange recovers from his adventures during 52. Starfire, having traveled across the galaxy to return Animal Man's jacket, lays comatose in his house, much to the consternation of his wife. His young son takes a photograph of the sleeping Starfire and when told off about it flies into a rage that disappears as quickly as it came. Animal goes to work as a stuntman on a movie set where the main actor, Champ, is refusing to work until he suddenly disappears.Back on Rann, after his vacation, Adam Strange returns to Ranagar where he finds Sardath has replaced him with Steven Hazard - Champ - as the new Rannian protector who uses a much more violent form of protection. On Earth, Starfire wakes and Animal Man convinces his wife to allow her to remain as nanny to the children. On Rann, Strange confronts Champ about his taking his place only to have him fly into a rage that quickly disappears.
