Nancy ponders whether to remain Dragonfly all the time. But meanwhile, giant bugs are invading the city! Dragonfly teams with the Scarlet Scorpion to help people threatened by the insects. Meanwhile, the mercenary Masquerader infiltrates a criminal's lair to discover the reason: Mantis-Man has been supplying the insects for money; the criminals rob banks and other places of valuables and Mantis-Man, Dr. Gunther Manning, takes a cut for his research. And in a hidden laboratory, work continues on whatever is being grown from Ken Burton's stolen body! In her personal life, her sister finally works up the courage to visit, and reveals that her ex-husband has kidnapped their child. Nancy vows to find the girl, despite having no particular skills in that area.
