Peppy is given a world tour so he can ascertain what has deviated from his people's expectations. They felt the extinct silver masked monkey would be the dominant species, but this is not the case. After seeing as many triumphs as horrors from mankind, Peppy decides that mankind is trying to drive itself to extinction, and feels it is his duty to help in that regard.
