To Mary's chagrin, her rich sister Renata visits and Dick thinks up a plan to punish her for the grief she caused Mary. Sally and Harry start a youth center in the Solomon's living room.
Can Harry and Sally scare up a date for Tommy?
Inspired by Jack Kerouac, Tommy decides to go 'on the road'.
Out of boredom, Dick, Sally and Harry go to a parallel universe and end up in New York where they all live the good life.

Sally is stunned to find Rutherford's 10 most powerful men don't include her beau, Officer Don. With Tommy about to matriculate, Sally focuses her alien super powers on getting Don to be the man she can be the great woman behind. Dick can't bear for Tommy to go away for university, so he pushes to lure him to the local clown college, where Dick teaches. Commander Dick can't admit his empty nest anxiety, so he stresses the diploma mill's advantages, like his fabulous teaching.
Tommy goes away to college, causing Dick extreme parental withdrawal. Meanwhile, Sally & Harry interview potential replacements, and Sally hires a "pretty boy" to be the new information officer.
Dick loves America, but does America love Dick?
Sally, Harry and Tommy rent out Dick's room, while Dick and Mary are away on an archaeological dig, where Mary is disappointed to come up empty after Dick finds a "pointy rock".
Mary has her purse snatched in a park, so Harry, Nina and Mary attend a self defense course that Don is teaching. Dick and Sally become a nightclub magician and a glamorous assistant.
It's double trouble as Dick searches for his own replacement.
Sally gets a job doing TV weather. Dick gives little respect to Mary's wish to spend some time apart.
When it comes to Mary, Dick doesn't know squat.
