Evil Dead 1 85 min. R 1981
Five friends travel to an isolated cabin in the woods on vacation, not knowing the horror in store for them. In the cabin they discover the Necronomicon, the Book of the Dead, which is in an ancient language and bound in human skin. And there just happens to be a tape recorder belonging to a professor who had been studying the book. So, of course, the kids play back the tape, which unlocks an unspeakable evil. The book has the power to turn people into deadites, which are zombies. Ash (Bruce Campbell) must fight the deadites to survive this vacation of terror, while everyone around him is killed.
Evil Dead 2 85 min. R 1987
Ash (Bruce Campbell) brings his girlfreind Annie (Sarah Beryl) to a secluded and tattered cabin deep in the woods. Inside they find a tape recorder with a message on it recorded by an archaeology Professor (John Peakes). The tape describes the discovery of ancient ruins and a powerful occult book called the Necronomicon Ex Mortis: the Book of the Dead. The message continues with a strange encantation that raises the very powers warned about on the tape, the evil dead. Stalked and tormented by the evil spirits, Ash finds he can't escape the dark forces in the woods. Soon the Professor's daughter (Denise Bixler) and a fellow reasearcher (Ed Getley) make their way to the cabin to help translate pages from the Necronomicon, only to also fall victim along with a mechanic (Dan Hicks) and his girlfriend (Kassie Wesley) to the grip of evil in the woods. Although evil's influence pits the strangers against eachother, they must survive together and fight possessed zombies through the night, or they'll be dead by dawn.
Army Of Darkness 81 min. R 1992
Ash (Bruce Campbell) falls through a portal that takes him back in time to a medieval setting, where the local knights promptly declare him to be the "He who has come from the sky to deliver us from the terror of the Deadites". Armed only with his boomstick (shotgun) and his wrist-mounted chainsaw, Ash goes on a quest to retrieve the fabled book of the Dead; The Necronomicon. Forgetting the magic word he needs to break the curse on the Necronomicon, Ash inadvertently releases the evil power inside, and must then go and do battle against the entire Deadite army (and save love-interest Sheila (Embeth Davidtz) too!)
