Before time there were four nations, the Fire Nation, the Earth Kingdom, the Water Tribe and the Air Nomads. These four nations all had the ability to bend their elements to their will. The people who possessed these abilitie were known as benders. In order to keep balance between the four nations, an Avatar was born, a reincarnated being that could control all four elements. The Last Airbender, is a story about Aang (Noah Ringer) who is the last remaining kind of his nation, a monk from the Air Temples. Aang ran away from his destiny and ended up trapped frozen in ice, until hundred years later two Water Tribe children free him from his slumber. During his hundred year absence, the four nations have been thrown of balance by the Fire nation’s imperialistic campaign to rule the world. Having been freed and finally awake, Aang has to travel the world to master the four elements, in order to defeat Fire Lord Ozai (Cliff Curtis), to restore balance to the four nations and to end the war.
