Talk about unusal jobs Evan Merck (Wes Bentley) is a writer living in California, his specialty is writing suicide notes. While attending a client’s funeral Merck meets the client’s sister, Charlotte (Winona Ryder). Charlotte does not know what Evan’s relationship with her brother was but soon becomes infatuated with him and begins a rocky relationship. Evan tries as hard as he can to keep his secret, but cannot hide it forever. He is afraid it will ruin his relationship with Charlotte. Evan’s continuous dishonesty turns into one deception after another that threatens to destroy his career and his already rocky realtionship with Charlotte.
