Ong-Bak features some of the best martial arts action you will ever see. Ting (Tony Jaa) in the lead role strikes many vicious blows to the henchmen of an evil business man who has defiled his villages Buddha statue, The Ong-Bak in this classic tale of righteous fury. Jaa’s mastery of the Muay Thai martial art really shines through. As Ting hunts down the villain of the tale he is assisted by bumbling companion Humlae (Petchtai Wongkamlao). Humlae plays out a Thai morality tale, and reminds the viewer to honor the village where they came from. Needless to say Humlae comes through for the Ong-Bak in the end.
Ong-Bak 2 110 min. R 2008
Tiang (Tony Jaa) is the son of a nobleman named Lord Sihadecho who is brutally killed in ancient Thailand. The much resistant young Tiang aspires to be like his dad when he grows up. Tiang manages to escape close death when he is rescued by a warrior named Cher Nung (Sorapong Chatree). Intrigue by the young Tiang, Chernang decides to take the brave young Tiang under his wings upon seeing his physical potential. Tiang intensify his training skills and abilities under the watchful eye of Chernang who now regards him as his son. He grows up wanting to avenge his father's murderer whom Tiang believes is Rajasena Lord (Sarunyu Wongkrachang). However, his attempt to kill the powerful Lord has failed when a battalion of his loyal army protects him. A shocking twist of event occurs when Tiang learns the truth about his father's real murderer.
Ong-Bak 3 110 min. R 2010
“Ong Bak 3” is a continuation of the legend of Tien (Tony Jaa). Tien is captured and tortured by his enemies. They fear him for what he can one day become. He is rescued by Master Bua (Nirut Sirichanya) who brings his battered body back to the Kana Khone village. There the villagers help him regain his health as Master Bua teaches him the art of meditation and Tien learns to become one with Chi. Once he masters his Chi, he learns to deal with his Karma and everything that was done to him. This is brought to a head as Chernug (Sorapong Chatree), Tien’s mortal enemy seeks him out for a final duel to the death.
