"The Rules Of Attraction", based on the book of the same name by Brett Easton Ellis, is the satirical story of the affects of a privileged life on the youth of America in the 1980s. Sean Bateman (James Van Der Beek), Lauren Hynde (Shannyn Sossamon) and Paul Owen (Ian Somerhalder) find themselves in a bizarre love triangle between the drug dealer, the virgin and a bisexual. The three disturbed students of Camden College try use excesses of drugs, sex, violence and alcohol to ease their troubled souls.
