Kassie Larson (Jennifer Aniston) is an unmarried modern day woman in her mid-forties who is unable to stand the single life. She turns to artificial insemination to become pregnant to answer the call of her biological clock. Seven years later her best friend, Wally Mars (Jason Bateman) forces his way back into her life with a big secret, he changed the insemination sample with his own genetic material. Now Wally has a biological clock of his own to answer as he wants to know Kassie’s son, Sebastian (Thomas Robinson). However Kassie believes the father is a charming and intelligent sperm donor, Roland (Patrick Wilson) and wants nothing to do with Wally.
