The towering inferno is an drama about a 100 plus story building that catches on fire and the plight of those in the building. Architect, Doug Roberts (Paul Newman) has designed the newly completed Glass Tower building and is attending a party to celebrate its opening. He has a growing concern, though, that the builder took shortcuts during the construction. Over the course of the evening, he is proved right as shorts in the building’s construction cause it to catch on fire. Now, hundreds of people are trapped on the upper floors as the fire begins to rage out of control. Fire chief, Michael O’Halloran (Steve McQueen), and Roberts must now orchestrate daring rescues in mid-air. Some people panic causing their deaths and the deaths of others. Some people face their fate is a calm and rational manner. The horror of the fire and the daring rescues make The Towering Inferno a complete adrenaline rush.
