Slight hearing losses are very common in young children and may not be noticed by their parents ond teachers.
But even this small loss in hearing may cause o child's speech development to be delayed, or lead to o difficulty in learning at school later on.

It is therefore important to measure each chills hearing so that any necessary help can be given as early as possible.

After a simple hearing test at a clinic or in school a child may be referred to a hospital Audiology Clinic or to a Community Audiology Centre. This small book will help
children and their parents to understand what happens in these clinics.
