Plot

This is an account of the memories of one young boy, Marin Coffey growing up as the middle child in a working class family of fifteen children. They lived in Cabra West , a north Dublin suburb with more than its fair share of poverty and social problems Regardless of the political and social systems in place during this period his parents encouraged each child to strive to better their situation, to make good for themselves and to rise above the poverty that surrounded them. It is also a story of the innocence experienced by most young children growing up in the time frame of the 1950's and 1960's where sex was never mentioned and respect for ones elders was an everyday occurrence.

" Growing up as a child in Cabra West during the 1950's and 1960's almost seems like something from a long forgotten dream. The classrooms of the schools I attended are practically empty of young children today. Most all of our old neighbors are dead and gone. All we have left are our selected memories and some photographs to treasure. Take care of them least we forget"
