Teach them to speak is a programmed guide to language development which is designed to help all those concerned with language arts education of very young children from preschool to lower junior level. The book is divided into three parts. The first part presents the rationale of the programme and gives a brief introduction to some o the research in the language field; the second part gives a detailed list of materials which will be used in the lessons; the third part, which forms the core of the book , provides sufficient material fie a year's work in the form of 200 daily lesson plans. Each lesson plan indicates the materials to be used, the procedures to be followed and suggests techniques which will encourage the child to respond orally, in well structured sentences.
