Augustinian Press (Jun 01, 1988)
This short monograph on the pastoral practice of St. Augustine serves at least two purposes. First, it is a short and concise introduction to Augustine's life and thought. Second, it can serve as a text for the teaching of the pastoral ministry. Pellegrino lets Augustine do much of the talking for himself, which is most welcome. Impressive is Augustine's emphasis on ministry as service of the people of God by means of God's Word and God's mysteries.
