
Hill Street Blues
This groundbreaking and award-winning NBC crime drama provided a very realistic view into the lives of the dedicated cops and detectives of an urban police station. From January 1981 to August 1986, the show ran on Thursdays at 10/9 Central, with occasional repeats on Saturdays at 10/9 Central. From August 1986 to August 1987 first-run episodes aired Tuesdays at 10/9 Central.
Furillo has mixed feelings about Jesse John Hudson, a powerful ex-gang leader who's just been released from jail who claims he wants to do good for his old community. However, word on the street is that Hudson is out to reclaim his old turf. Meanwhile, various police officers search the neighborhood for a missing seven-year-old boy and Belker arrests an orangutan purse snatcher.
Furillo suspects that Jesse John Hudson is behind the theft of a cache of weapons. Washington investigates the murder of a prostitute. Belker and Goldblume work undercover as cab drivers. Hunter takes Grace Gardner on a date to an art gallery exhibit.
Goldblume does his best to maintain order after angry old man Mr. Popovich shoots a local boy dead and barricades himself in his home. Belker demands that Furillo pull the gung-go Virgil Brooks from his current assignment before Jesse John Hudson discovers that he's really an undercover cop.
Bates makes an error in judgment when she allows a junkie prostitute to shoot up prior to arresting her only to have the hooker nearly die from an overdose. Furillo demands that Davenport become more open about their romantic relationship.
LaRue and Washington are accused of entrapment. A ten-year-old girl gets shot and killed by a fourteen-year-old street gang member. Grace Gardner informs Esterhaus that she might be pregnant.
Coffey has to arrest a guy who was a longtime friend of his family. Hill has to cover for an old friend who has a tendency for using excessive force. Renko gets in hot water after playing a tasteless practical joke on a female officer in training.
Frank decides to attend a dinner for Fay's new love interest. Renko stands up for a guy who has a warrant out for his arrest after the guy saves his life. Belker goes undercover to catch ATM robbers. Hill and the other cops' account of what happened with Nash are questioned.
Following a gruesome murder perpetrated by a gang at a night club, Furillo is determined to take any means necessary to find the people responsible. Belker runs in a guy who thinks that he is a superhero. LaRue goes undercover inside a holding cell to try and get a confession.
Furillo risks perjury after he's subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury investigating police corruption. Renko gets upset when his service revolver is stolen. Captain Freedom reappears to thwart a robbery.
Hill, Renko, and Belker work undercover at a seedy downtown salon. Calletano becomes suspicious about a new attractive office assistant who is less than qualified for the position. Davenport recommends a lawyer for Frank in the corruption-seeking Sullivan Commission. Hunter uses hounds to try and find wild dogs running around in the city.
An angry Furillo testifies a second time before a grand jury for the Sullivan Commission on police corruption. Goldblume goes undercover in drag to catch a purse snatcher. Bates represents the Hill in a high stakes poker game against rival departments. Captain Freedom meets an untimely end when he attempts to stop a gang of armed robbers.
A public defender is brutally murdered. Hill is elected as VP of the Black Officers' Coalition. LaRue and Washington nab a cocaine dealer who has knowledge of a large PCP lab.
Renko gets upset at Hill for temporarily leaving him to head up the Black Officer's Coalition. On the eve of a huge PCP lab bust, LaRue turns to the bottle. Furillo learns that a suspect in the murder of a district attorney may go free due to a technicality.
Goldblume finds a witness in the DA murder cases who is too good to be true. Furillo moves to kick LaRue off the force after he almost ruined a major bust by showing up drunk. Hill quits the Black Officers Coalition. Belker feels over the hill after being outrun by a suspect. Esterhaus is angry with Grace after learning of her liaison with an obnoxious neighbor whom he would never have met if not for Grace having complained about the man's dog's barking all night and asked for help.
Esterhaus is up in arms after his car is stolen. Washington believes that LaRue has changed after seeing him for the first time since his demotion. Hill, Renko, and Goldblume go undercover to catch a scheme perpetrated by prostitutes and phony cops. Davenport has a meltdown in court.
Belker and Washington go undercover at an adult movie theater. A man who recently lost his job holds his wife and son hostage inside their apartment. Goldblume's wife asks him for a divorce. The precinct plans an exhibition basketball game between the officers and the gang members.
Furillo, Goldblume, and Washington try to track down the owner of a gun that killed one officer and seriously injured another. Renko learns that his father only has days to live.
Belker goes undercover as a wino to nab a killer. Davenport puts her and Frank's vacation on hold to defend a man accused of rape who she believes is innocent. After Renko's dad dies, the car with his body is stolen and chased in hot pursuit around the city. Washington pleads to Furillo to get LaRue back as a partner.
