Still Game
Still Game is a comedy based around the lives of pensioner pals Jack Jarvis and Victor McDade. It's set in and around a fictional part of Glasgow called Craiglang, and Jack and Victor's home in Osprey Heights. Focusing on the ironies and comedy of old age with humour, tenderness and pathos, these OAPS prove they're still game for anything the world can throw at them. The show enjoyes the highest viewing figures that any Scottish programme has seen in the last ten years. The third series first episode alone drew 1,520,100 viewers - 47% of Scotland's total viewing audience. This makes it the most watched BBC comedy in Scotland ever, outperforming even its parent show, Chewin' the Fat.After negotations with BBC London, Still Game will finally receive the UK-wide slot it deserves, as of series 4. (Previously, fans from south of the border have only been able to watch the series through Sky digital channel 941 or on DVD/VHS.)
Jack and Victor have crossed the Big Pond to stay with Fiona and are taking in all the tourist attractions - as well as the tacky souvenirs. With such an improved life-style why would anybody want to return to dreary old Craiglang? Where Winston has now got his feet under the table at Isa's. Her cooking is superb but he finds her incessant talking less palatable.
Jack and Victor decide to go back to school and take up a first aid course, but will they have the discipline to see it through? Boabby arranges a pub quiz to drum up business.
Tam goes too far in a card game, so Jack and Victor arrange a rigged rematch to get even, but it will require everyone in Craiglang playing their part to work. Winston is on the luckiest streak of his life and Stevie the bookie is worried.
Juvenile delinquents are running wild in Craiglang so Jack and Victor recruit an old friend to bring back law and order. Winston goes back to work at a supermarket, where his colleagues are less than charming.
A local hermit emerges after decades hidden away, so Jack and Victor take it upon themselves to show him all Craiglang has to offer. But will he like what he sees?
The future looks bleak for Winston's leg. Victor pretends to be ill so his son will visit him and Isa meets a psychic in the Clansman and tells her she'll be run over with a car but Navid and everyone make a joke out of it.
