Still Game
Still Game is a comedy based around the lives of pensioner pals Jack Jarvis and Victor McDade. It's set in and around a fictional part of Glasgow called Craiglang, and Jack and Victor's home in Osprey Heights. Focusing on the ironies and comedy of old age with humour, tenderness and pathos, these OAPS prove they're still game for anything the world can throw at them. The show enjoyes the highest viewing figures that any Scottish programme has seen in the last ten years. The third series first episode alone drew 1,520,100 viewers - 47% of Scotland's total viewing audience. This makes it the most watched BBC comedy in Scotland ever, outperforming even its parent show, Chewin' the Fat.After negotations with BBC London, Still Game will finally receive the UK-wide slot it deserves, as of series 4. (Previously, fans from south of the border have only been able to watch the series through Sky digital channel 941 or on DVD/VHS.)
With Craiglang in the midst of a heatwave everyone is scrambling for the best benches in the park, so Jack and Victor get creative to get ahead. Isa learns of Harry's death and decides to get back in the dating scene.
After meeting some lovely ladies at the theatre, Jack and Victor get to rub shoulders with high society at an overnight stay in a manor. However, they aren't the only ones after a taste of the good life.
After a freak truck accident, Craiglang is left without electricity for an extended period. Winston takes it upon himself to look out for his disabled pal Joe, meanwhile Shug arms the locals with gadgets to defend themselves.
A new pizza chain is in Craiglang and everyone is interested. Boabby and Stevie battle for the affection of the cashier, meanwhile Jack and Victor try and snag themselves free food.
After a new superstore opens, locals are torn between the convenience it offers and their loyalty to Navid. And what's got Tam so charitable?
Pete makes a bold claim that he created a beloved bakery product, so Jack and Victor fight for him to get compensation. Francine is desperate for Tam to be more romantic.
Tam and Frances enjoy fame and fortune with their new addition but it means baby sitting stints for Jack and Victor which is proving a bit of a strain. And a major character ends the series close to death. There will be a Christmas and New Year special.
Jack and Victor are training nonstop for the upcoming choir contest, meanwhile Tam has his eyes on a fruit machine promising a huge payout. Winston works as a lollipop lady.
