Game of Thrones
Summers span decades. Winters can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne has begun.
It will stretch from the south where heat breeds plots, lusts and intrigues; to the vast and savage eastern lands; all the way to the frozen north, where an 800-foot wall of ice protects the kingdom from the dark forces that lie beyond. Kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars, lords and honest men…all will play the ‘Game of Thrones.’
In Winterfell, the Stark family's world shifts when King Robert seeks Ned's help, as ominous signs stir beyond the Wall and an exiled princess is drawn into a perilous alliance across the sea.
King Robert asks Eddard Stark to leave Winterfell for court, where Lannister power looms. Far north, the Night's Watch finds unsettling signs, while exiled Daenerys Targaryen is promised in marriage.
Ned and his daughters ride south with the king while Jon and Tyrion head to the Wall; across the Narrow Sea, Daenerys faces a new life among the Dothraki.
In King's Landing, Ned takes up his new post as Hand of the King while Arya begins sword lessons. At the Wall, Jon earns the nickname "Lord Snow." Across the sea, Daenerys adjusts to life with the Dothraki.
Tyrion and Jon head to the Wall as the Night's Watch tests its newest recruits. Catelyn makes a risky move against the Lannisters, while Ned grapples with the cost of rule and Daenerys adapts to Dothraki life.
Ned digs deeper into Jon Arryn's death as Stark-Lannister tensions erupt in King's Landing. Catelyn makes a bold move on the road, Arya begins sword lessons, and Daenerys asserts herself among the Dothraki.
Ned follows leads on Jon Arryn's death as Robert's council debates a threat across the Narrow Sea; Tyrion stands trial in the Vale, Arya trains with Syrio, Jon adjusts to the Wall, and Viserys presses Daenerys and Drogo for a crown.
Eddard Stark uncovers a perilous secret in King's Landing and weighs a risky move as rival houses maneuver; King Robert rides out on a hunt, while Daenerys faces a growing crisis in the Dothraki camp.
Ned's arrest sparks chaos: Sansa is held at court as Arya runs for her life; Robb calls the banners, Jon weighs his vows at the Wall, and Daenerys seeks a healer as Drogo weakens.
In King's Landing, a crowd gathers at the Great Sept of Baelor as Ned makes a desperate bid to spare his daughters; Robb carries the war to the Lannisters; Daenerys faces a difficult reckoning among the Dothraki.
Robb vows to get revenge on the Lannisters. Jon must officially decide if his place is with Robb or the Night's Watch. Daenerys says her final goodbye to Drogo.
