Harvey Birdman Attorney At Law: Volume 1

In 1967 Hanna-Barbera produced a short-lived and mediocre super-hero cartoon called "Birdman and the Galaxy Trio." Flash forward to 2005; Birdman has given up the super-hero biz and is now an inept lawyer representing cartoons in trouble. Such is the absurdly brilliant premise behind Cartoon Network's (adult swim) hit, "Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law." Volume one collects the first 13 episodes, with such precedent-setting cases as "Chief vs. Javalux," where ex-Super Friend Apache Chief sues a cafe for his badly burned ability to "grow large at will." There is also "Shoyu Weenie vs. Jabberjaw," a nail-biter of a trademark infringement suit, and "People vs. Flintstone," the shocking case of a construction worker alleged to be the head of a criminal family. And of course, "High vs. Finkerton Detective Agency," the wrongful termination suit of a man fired for being one inch tall. Every episode dusts off a character from H-B's storied past, from the famous to the obscure, and tosses them into a modern legal mess of ridiculous proportions.
