Plot

When the mermaids first appeared magically in the waters off Mollusk Island, no one knew what to make of them. But now Aque and Surf are Little Scallop's best friends, and they play together in Mermaid Lagoon almost every day. Even though Little Scallop is the daughter of the chief mollusk, Fighting Prawn, she often finds her life as a mollusk princess a little bit routine. Only warrior mollusks, like Little Scallop's older brothers, are allowed to do brave, exciting things like spying on the pirates that haunt the island. Little Scallop longs to have a real adventure. But she gets more than she's bargained for when she sneaks off with her mermaid pals to go pearl fishing one day. What do you do when your best friend is captured by humans, and you're only a little scallop?
