Plot

Ray Rising was a missionary working with an organization which translates the Bible into indigenous languages. He was captured by guerrillas and held prisoner for over two years. He continued to convey his Christian message to his captors. He is very candid about his struggles with boredom, loneliness and frustration as he was held in crude shelters in the dense jungles, yet the book, co-written by a journalist, never drags.
