Plot

Based on the stories by Lucy Maude Montgomery, the Story Girl series tells the ongoing story of Sara Stanley, a young girl who earns the name of the Story Girl. The Story Girl keeps her cousins and friends spellbound with her tales, and a strong Christian message is woven throughout. In Winter on the Island, the King cousins and their friends celebrate Christmas and make New Year’s resolutions. They also begin work on their own newspaper, Our Magazine. As winter wears on, they are visited by the governor’s wife, and have to spend the night at Peg Bowen’s house after being caught in a blizzard.
