June 16, 2007: I found this book as I was seeking to find some literature to help me understand what happened within my family, after a devastated experience we are enduring since our daughter, which had just turn 18th years old, left home because we decided to leave an abusive and manipulative ?church? 'Now we know it was/is a cult' I was lost, angry and confused as how could we, my husband and I, have missed the point, being Christians for 20 years. This book helped me to understand that I should not blame myself, as it could?ve happen with any sincere Christian desiring to have a more intimate relationship with the Lord. I have been recommending it to lots of people in similar situations. I found this book to be a MUST READ BOOK to any person, as mind control and manipulative techniques, nowadays, can be employed by anyone, anywhere at any given time!
