We all know Liverpool as the home of the Beatles and that famous ferry across the Mersey, but that's a mere sideshow to Terence Davies. His ode to his hometown probes every nook and cranny, from potholes to porticos, tied together by a droll voiceover from the filmmaker that makes all manner of amusing digressions. Davies swoons, but he also has some rage in him.
