Lat Den Rätte Komma In
It is based on the novel of the same name by John Ajvide Lindqvist, who also wrote the screenplay for the film. It tells the story of a bullied 12-year-old boy who develops a friendship with a vampire in Blackeberg, a suburb to Stockholm.
The film has received wide international critical acclaim and has won numerous awards, including the "Founders Award for Best Narrative Feature" at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival[2][3] and the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation's 2008 Méliès d'Or (Golden Méliès) for the "Best European Fantastic Feature Film".
Film school rejects: Everything you’ve heard about this moody chiller from Sweden is true. It’s creepy and sweet, dark and humorous, and absolutely beautiful to look at. A bullied boy meets a troubled girl with a blood-thirsty secret. Young love has never been more interesting. One of the three best films of the year, foreign or domestic. Try not to read too much more about it, just go see it.
Best 19 Movies you didn't see in 2008: Why it's on here: We've already talked extensively about why Let the Right One In is such a phenomenal film. But for those that don't know about it just yet, it's one of the best horror movies in the last few years and is the very best vampire movie since Interview with the Vampire in 1994. Although it's already getting a lot of exposure from fellow critics, most of whom are calling it their favorite movie of the year, it still didn't spread wide enough to be called a hit, so I'm putting it on here to give it even more of the exposure that it deserves.
