Dolls is a film about Japanese doll theater and a human love story illustrated through beautiful imagery. This film is a lot more sensitive than most Kitano films.
Enduring love, between three couples, is the theme of this Japanese weeper. An aging man regularly visits the park where he used to meet his lover; a young couple must part because their parents don't approve of the match; and a former pop star, once gorgeous and now disfigured, continues to be loved by an unwavering fan.
