Plot

Comics were changing and writer Dennis O'Neil and artist Neal Adams were among the vanguard bringing about revolutionary innovations in storytelling. Separately and together, they were remaking DC's super-heroes into three-dimensional characters and evolving the stories to match. When paired together to rescue Green lantern from cancellation, they were the right people, on the right character at the right time. By pairing the feisty Green Arrow with his straight-laced emerald-clad counterpart, O'Neil and Adams set the stage for a new generation of comic-book characters. These "Hard-Traveling Heroes" did more than bust the chops of costumed baddies. They addressed social ills and made us, the readers, pause to think not just of the world of comic-book fantasy, but the world outside our windows. This is the first of two collections that collects the entire Green Lantern/Green Arrow run by O'Neil & Adams.
