The American home-front is confronted by a new threat - an underworld boss who, admiring the Nazis above all else, has styled himself "American Adolph" and assembled an army of convicts to overthrow the government. When a member of this "Crime Army" tries to assassinate Col. Darnell, Diana becomes incensed and knocks him out a window, revealing the would-be assassin to be Adolph in disguise.
After surviving his fall, Adolph immediately plans to silence Diana, only to be confronted by Wonder Woman. Under the guise of a "friendly" handshake, Adolph surreptitiously injects a mind-control drug into the Amazon, rendering her helpless. Wonder Woman is then driven to the closest penitentiary, where Adolph's subordinates have already supplanted the authorities; the warden manages to phone a warning before being shot, but as Federal troops and artillery close in, Adolph covers the prison walls in hostages, including Wonder Woman.
News of the standoff and human shield soon reaches Steve, who hurries to the penitentiary with Paula and Etta. There, Paula identifies and brews an antidote to the drug controlling Wonder Woman; this antidote is hidden in the equipment of Etta's marching band, which (claiming to be on a publicity tour) plays before the human shield and launches the antidote into Wonder Woman's mouth.
Once freed, Wonder Woman quickly leads the Holliday Girls in a crushing assault on Adolph's forces. Adolph retaliates with his last and greatest weapon - a poison gas-spraying bomber built of nigh-unbreakable metal. When artillery fails against this plane, Wonder Woman seizes its propeller with bare hands, and uses brute strength to crash it against the ground - a crash that Adolph willingly dies in, seeing his mad dream thwarted at last.
