Hal Rand is about to adopt Jimmy Olsen when Superman bursts in with evidence that Mark Olsen, Jimmy's father, is still alive. Because of the presence of Gold Kryptonite in the hidden valley in which Dr. Olsen is found, Superman cannot stay to aid Jimmy and Hal, but manages to help the three of them from afar, and later takes them all back to America.
