A report comes across J. Jonah Jameson's desk, describing the research of Farley Stillwell. Dr. Stillwell has found a way to force mutations. Jameson brings along a willing accomplice to create the Scorpion, a character capable of defeating Spider-Man. Unfortunately, Mac Gargan's sense of right and wrong is skewed by the process, and he becomes an uncontrollable villain.
