Peter gets the jump on Dr. Octopus, and beats him into submission. Once that's done, he has to arrange a way home. After all, the airplane the Doctor had him trapped in landed in Brazil. That's quite a commute to make before Aunt May gets back from Florida, and even if he does beat May back, there's still Gwen to deal with.
