Upset about their initial loss, Skrull scientiss modify (the yet unnamed) Kl'rt to possess the abilities of all four members of the Fantastic Four and send him back to Earth to conquer. Kl''rt lands in Times Square and declares the Earth his. The four attack him head on and are effectively trounced, but are left alive for Kl'rt to torment in the time to come. This proves to be his undoing; as with most foes, once Reed Richards has had time to analyze their attack strategy, they are as good as defeated. Reed reduced the source of Kl'rt's power, and the FF handily cut off the supply and trap him underground.
