Reed experiments with Sue, discovering that she has additional powers, including the ability to create force fields and the ability to make visible things invisible and vice versa. They learn this as they are accosted by their neighbours, who are afraid of the dangerous experiments and goods they have. The FF investigate the possibility of moving their headquarters to an island, but the island they find is an access point to the Mole Man's lair. He captures them, and holds them captive while he plans to start World War III. With the aid of Sue's now powers, the team escapes, but did they do it in time?
