The Sinister Shadows of... Doomsday - The X-Men are free, and trying to prevent Factor Three from starting a world war between the U.S.A. and the U.S.S.R., which would allow the mutant group to take control of the world in the aftermath. Nobody believes them, which makes it appear the Mutant Master's master plan is going to succeed.

A Man Called... X - A new series of backup stories begins to tell the origins of the X-Men. In this first story, we learn the origin of Professor X and his connection to Fred Duncan, previously seen in issue #2.
