The X-Men meet with a new mutant who is trying to get a record distribution deal for her band. Meanwhile, the President has to deal with suspicions that Charles Xavier is controlling or influencing his thoughts. To distance himself from the X-Men without eliminating the positive gains of the pro-mutant stance, they put together a new team of mutants to represent the government.
