Tales of Suspense, Vol. 1

"The Icy Fingers of Jack Frost" - Tony Stark is in a serious car accident, and his life is saved by a bystander named Harold "Happy" Hogan, and ex-prize fighter whom Tony hires on as a chauffeur. Tony soon introduces him to Virginia "Pepper" Potts, his secretary. Happy falls for Pepper, but she only has eyes for Tony. Shortly thereafter, Professor Gregor Shapanka betrays Stark's trust and tries to steal plans for transistors, but Stark defeats him as Iron Man. When Stark fires Shapanka, the resulting argument inspires Shapanka to become Jack Frost, and it is in this guise that he returns to rob Stark Industries again. If not for Iron Man's luck in carrying around the components needed to build a miniature furnace, the day may have ended differently.

"I Come From Far Centarus" - A spacecraft lands on Earth in need of repair. The sole human witness tries to negotiate a trade agreement with the alien, but the alien has no interest. Using advanced technology, the alien peers into the future, learning that the human will, indeed, possess great wealth. The alien issues this as a warning, but the human fails to see the downside, and continues his habit of accumulating wealth at any cost to others.
