Richard Rider is the last Nova, and he's been infected by the Phalanx. However, the death of Ko-Rel has returned a portion of his power to him, which was enough of a boost to hold the virus in check. He soon finds himself operating under his own free will once more, even if he does so with extremely limited power. Unfortunately, the Phalanx do not like it when their inductees free themselves.
