Commissioner Gordan is visiting his friend, socialite Bruce Wayne, who leads a remarkably boring life. A call comes in about a murder, and Wayne goes along to witness the investigation. The victim and his business partners have been receiving death threats, and ask the police for help. The police try, but a mysterious figure named Batman has been investigating more effectively, finding the true killer's identity and motive soon enough to stop a third murder, but not soon enough to stop a second.
