Bruce Wayne is taking a cab ride when a woman barges in. She is being attacked, and needs protection. She and her brother had been captured by an evil scientist, who has a ray which can melt off a person's features. He then puts the face on a flower in his garden. Batman evades capture, and helps keep those two free for a while. When the woman is recaptured, Batman pursues them, saving her when her captors die in a car accident.
