After swinging around flagpoles, declaring that he's been doing so far longer than anybody "including a certain web-spinning Peter-come-lately," Batman goes looking for something to keep himself occupied. He settles on attending the First International Robot Exposition, where he meets Doc Magnus and his Metal Men, as well as Dr. Daedalus and his robot Icarus. After leaving the Exposition, he hears about a series of crimes committed by robots. Suspecting a connection to the convention, he heads back, where he learns that someone gimmicked the projector with a device that would allow that individual to take control of the robots who viewed the screen. Icarus was immune due to a special coating he had from a recent lab accident, while the Metal Men have an immunity that they are unable to explain. Suspicious of them, Batman investigates, eventually accusing them of the crime and having them arrested. Later realizing that they'd been framed by Daedalus and Icarus, Batman managed to track down the loot, while the Metal Men freed themselves and helped catch the real criminals.
