The Secret History of the Avengers
| Release: | Jul 1999 |

The Synchro-Staff which Hawkeye liberated from Immortus' stronghold in Limbo is actually the original Space Phantom. Now, outside of time and deprived of his connection to Limbo, he is powerless and easily captured by the Avengers who press him about Immortus. He tells them of a history behind the history of the Avengers... how Immortus has manipulated the team time and again to try to prevent them from going out into the universe, or to minimize Earth's influence on the timeline so that the Time Keepers would not destroy humanity to protect future time.
