Elektra Natchios arrives at Columbia University, and meets several people destined to change her destiny. Phoebe McAllister is first, and her roommate. Next is Calvin "Trey" Langstrom the Third, campus bully, who was taunting Melissa Beckerman. Finally, she meets Matt Murdock and his roommate Foggy Nelson. She returns from a thouroughly enjoyable first date with Matt to find Melissa waiting in her dorm room, clearly disturbed and traumatized by some kind of unrevealed event(s).
