While investigating the case, another witness comes forward, using identical phrasing in his account as what Griggs used. Pursuing the lead, Matt realizes that the common thread between the two is the psychologist Arnold Quaid. Daredevil tracks him down, and finds the Matador using the role, admitting to creating false memories. He brings the man to Griggs, but neither remembers seeing the other. Matt is starting to realize that all witnesses and the Matador have been brainwashed somehow.
