Nick Fury recounts his first mission for the O.S.S., which was spent hunting a Japanese scientist who escaped World War II with a supervirus, which was effectively a doomsday weapon. The result of the mission disturbed him almost as much as the true nature of the mission, which he didn't learn until it was over.
