Sharon Carter is not as dead as people have believed. Instead, she was sent on a secret mission by Fury after he faked her death, and she only recently resurfaced. She blames Fury for what she has gone through, and tries to verify reports of his own death. What she finds is the body that the Punisher shot, but it's not Fury. Instead, it's the most advanced L.M.D. she's ever seen, and she's seen a lot of them.
