Rich has to step away from a barbeque with friends to save a hijacked satellite. He saves the pilots and lines them up to bring it down safely, but leaves before they do so. It's only via radio that he learns about the fatal crash. This puts a damper on his time with his friends, and he's not up to his top game when they are attacked by a man seeking revenge and ihs companions.
