Damon Ryder was once a man with a family, and a research scientist looking for evidence that humans were related to dinosaurs. But he lost his family, and blames his research assistant... Ben Reilly. He's been searching for Reilly ever since, and unforunately he's found Peter Parker, who looks exactly like him. Peter looks like Ben Reilly because Ben was actually a clone, created from his genetic material. The two clashed in Boston, when Peter was attending the rehearsal dinner for his aunt's Wedding. But now Damon has come to New York, seeking him out at the Front Line offices where he's moonlighting.
